This will be a short post, mostly for minor updates and things. And even with a book release, November will give the rest I need!

A New Book Release
You’ll see another email from me in your inbox this month. Specifically on the 19th. *cue my massive grin* The Book of Light comes out in 17 days!! And for you, dear reader, you get an exclusive teaser from The Book of Light that I will NOT be posting to social media!
Feast your eyes…

Indie Bookstores
Salient Books has started carrying print copies of The Dark Library Series on their website! They are an independent online bookstore that only carries indie authors, and the owner, Jasmine, really makes the buying experience special. You can opted for exclusive sprayed edges, get extra swag, and support indies both with authors and a small business. I love being a part of their community! Check out Salient Books’ website and their Instagram.
Hand-Writing A Novel
You read that correctly. If you follow me on Instagram or TikTok, I posted about my current writing adventure with hand-writing the fourth book in The Dark Library Series. It’s been put on the back burner, as they say, with the release of The Book of Light, but I’m so excited to dig back in.
I’m a fast writer (but that doesn’t mean I’m a GOOD writer–I’m just FAST). And I type over 100 words per minute (my average hovers around 115wpm). While that trait is very cool, it doesn’t leave a lot of room for consideration when I’m ripping through a scene, typin’ fast, faces pass and I’m homebound.
Ahem. Sorry. I couldn’t help myself.
But hand-writing scenes forces my brain AND my body to slow down. Creatively, writing is fun and peaceful, rather than a speed-boosted race to a finish line that I’ve set for myself. I can take my time, let the words come slowly, and think of each one more easily.
Will I hand-write the rest of the series? Perhaps. It’ll likely be a mix of hand-writing and typing, but I love the potential of what each book may need. Book four feels like it needs to be hand-written.
A Time for Rest
With the release of book three and the drafting of book four, I’m looking forward to my rapid-release publishing schedule finally slowing down. It’s been a WILD ride, publishing three books this year. (THREE BOOKS. IN A YEAR. What a thing to say and have it be true!) We’ve reached the final quarter of 2024, and I’m excited to have it include the third book of a seven-book series.
Will you draft three books again next year and rapid-release those in 2026? Likely not. My goals include drafting, revising, editing, and publishing one book at a time, now that the publishing floodgates have opened. So, when book four takes shape look forward to teasers and exclusives!
